Terms of service

Last updated: June 8, 2026

These terms of service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of inspecta's products and services, including the website at inspecta.design , the web application at app.inspecta.design , the inspecta Chrome extension, and the inspecta Figma plugin (collectively, the Service).

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. About inspecta

inspecta provides visual quality-assurance and CSS editing tools for designers and developers. The Service lets you inspect live web pages, edit styles, compare implementations with design references, save projects, share changes, and optionally use AI-assisted features when you supply your own API keys.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of a company or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

Some features require you to create an account and sign in with Google. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account and for all activity under your inspecta account.

3. Accounts and authentication

Account creation uses Google sign-in through Firebase Authentication. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account credentials secure.

We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, abused the Service, or created security or legal risk for inspecta or other users.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation
  • use the Service on websites or data you do not have permission to access, inspect, or analyze
  • use the Service to collect, expose, or misuse personal data from third-party websites without a lawful basis
  • attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, disrupt, or overload the Service or its infrastructure
  • circumvent usage limits, authentication, or security measures
  • upload or transmit malware, spam, or harmful code through the Service
  • misrepresent your identity or affiliation
  • use the Service to develop a competing product through unauthorized automated access

You are responsible for ensuring you have permission to use inspecta on any site you inspect, including compliance with that site's terms, policies, and intellectual property rights.

5. Your content and projects

Your content includes CSS edits, text changes, screenshots, project metadata, share descriptions, prompts you submit, and other material you create or upload through the Service.

You retain ownership of your content. You grant inspecta a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and process your content solely to operate, improve, and provide the Service (for example, saving projects, rendering share pages, and forwarding AI requests you initiate).

You represent that you have the rights necessary to submit your content and that doing so does not infringe third-party rights.

6. Shared links

The Service may let you create links that share your edits with others. Unless a restricted visibility option is offered and selected, shares may be public and accessible to anyone with the link.

You are responsible for what you share, including any URLs, screenshots, or edit details contained in a share. Do not share confidential, proprietary, or personal information unless you intend for it to be publicly accessible.

inspecta may remove, disable, or refuse to host any shared link at any time if we reasonably believe it violates these Terms, infringes third-party rights, contains unlawful or harmful content, or creates security or legal risk — with or without prior notice. You may delete your own shares from the Service at any time.

7. AI features and bring your own key (BYOK)

Certain AI features require you to provide your own API key from a supported provider (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google Gemini). BYOK features are optional.

By using BYOK features, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • you are solely responsible for your API keys, provider accounts, and any fees charged by the provider
  • inspecta stores your API key locally in your browser (encrypted) and does not persist it on inspecta servers
  • prompts, page context, design data, and optional screenshots may be sent to your selected provider under that provider's terms and privacy policy
  • AI can make mistakes — including wrong CSS, missed design differences, or suggestions that break your layout — and you must review and validate everything before applying it
  • inspecta does not guarantee availability, accuracy, or fitness of AI features for any purpose

How your API key is handled in transit

When you initiate an AI request, your API key is sent from the Chrome extension to the inspecta web application over HTTPS, included only in the request headers. Our servers use the key in memory solely to forward your request to the AI provider you selected. The key is not logged, not written to disk, and not stored on inspecta servers — it is discarded from server memory once the request completes. When you save or verify a key in Settings, the extension may also contact your chosen provider directly over HTTPS to confirm the key is valid; that verification does not pass through inspecta servers.

See our Privacy policy for additional details on how data is handled in AI flows.

8. Third-party services

The Service integrates with or links to third-party services, including Google (Firebase, sign-in, fonts), Vercel, Figma, AI providers, and the Chrome Web Store. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and policies.

inspecta is not responsible for third-party services, including outages, pricing changes, data handling, or policy changes by AI providers you choose through BYOK.

9. Service availability and limits

We strive to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features may change, be added, or be removed at any time.

We may impose usage limits to protect the Service and users, including limits on cloud projects, API calls, Figma compare usage, and AI-related features. Free-tier limits (such as a maximum number of saved projects per account) may apply and may change with notice where appropriate.

The Chrome extension runs only on pages where you activate it. Some features require an internet connection and a signed-in account.

10. Intellectual property

inspecta and its licensors own the Service, including software, branding, documentation, and visual design, except for your content and third-party materials. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the Service.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service except as expressly permitted by these Terms or applicable law.

11. Feedback

If you provide suggestions, ideas, or feedback about the Service, you grant inspecta the right to use that feedback without restriction or compensation to you.

12. Privacy

Our Privacy policy explains how we collect and use information. By using the Service, you also agree to the privacy policy.

13. No warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." inspecta does not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

AI can make mistakes. Suggestions, comparisons, and generated CSS may be wrong, incomplete, or unsuitable for your site. inspecta does not guarantee the accuracy of any AI output. Never apply AI suggestions blindly — always check them yourself.

You are responsible for everything you do with inspecta. That includes any CSS edits, comparisons, shared links, or AI output you review, apply, or publish. Always validate results yourself before using them on a live site or in production.

14. Limitation of liability

You use the Service at your own risk. To the extent permitted by law, inspecta is not liable for any damages, losses, or harm arising from your use of the Service — including decisions you make based on edits, comparisons, or AI suggestions.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

15. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless inspecta and its affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

16. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. You may delete your account from the web application, which removes your projects and authentication record as described in our privacy policy.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if we believe you violated these Terms or if necessary to protect the Service, users, or third parties.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we may provide additional notice (for example, by email or in-product notice) where appropriate.

Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

18. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Israel, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
